DOG BISCUITS 
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. white flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. dry milk
1/2 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. lard, butter, or bacon fat
1 egg, mixed with 1 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. water

Mix first 5 ingredients in bowl; cut in shortening. Add egg with sugar, then water. Knead until pliable; roll out on floured board and cut in any shape. Put on greased cookie sheets and bake 1/2 hour at 325 degrees. For harder cookies, leave in oven to cool. I enjoy making these at Christmas and cutting them with holiday cutters and give them to dogs of my friends and neighbors.
