DOG BISCUITS 
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. dry milk powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 egg
6 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. water

Combine flour, wheat germ, dry milk and salt. Cut in the shortening until like cornmeal. Beat brown sugar, egg and 1/4 cup of the water. Stir slowly into dry ingredients. Add more of the water as needed to make a stiff dough. Knead until smooth.

Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with bone shaped (or other) cookie cutter. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

Note: If you don't have wheat germ, substitute crushed cereal.
