CRUMB CAKE
CRUMBS:

3/4 lb. melted butter, cooled slightly
3 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. light brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon in large bowl. Add butter; work with hands. Should be moist. Make crumbs

DOUGH:

1/4 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. milk
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend first 4 ingredients as a pie crust. Mix milk, yolk, and vanilla in a cup. Add egg mixture to blended dough. You might have to add a little more flour to work dough. Mix well with hands. When blended press dough on bottom of pan making sure there are no spaces. Place 1 can of Comstock apples (in raw) to cover crust. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon. On top put crumbs; make large ones with your fingers. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. When cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar. I use a Pyrex pan, about 9 x 13.

NOTE: Comstock blueberry pie filling can also be used.
