1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. plain flour

Mix together all ingredients. Roll into a ball and refrigerate until cold. Roll out and cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Frost top of cookies with colored icing.
