EASY CARAMEL ICING 
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Powdered sugar

Heat butter and sugar over low heat with the milk and let come to a full boil. Remove from heat, let cool. Add enough powdered sugar to thicken and spread on cake.

Good on: Apple sauce cake, jam cake, fresh apple cake.
