EDNA'S CARAMEL ICING 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. milk
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter, blend in brown sugar and salt. Cook over low heat 2 minutes stirring continually. Add milk, stir until boiling. Remove from heat; cool and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well with a mixer. Thin with milk if needed. Frosts 9 x 13 inch cake.
