CLASSIC SALISBURY STEAK | |
Savory Classic Salisbury Steak in a rich brown gravy. I double the ingredients for the gravy so there is plenty to spoon over mashed potatoes or noodles! 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef 1 (10 oz.) can condensed French onion soup 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs 1 egg 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. black pepper 2 tbsp. olive oil 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/4 cup ketchup 1/4 cup water 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp. mustard powder Combine ground beef, 1/3 cup condensed soup, bread crumbs, egg, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Shape into 6 oval patties. Heat a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat; add patties and brown on both sides. Drain excess fat. While patties are browning, whisk remaining soup with flour in a small bowl until smooth; mix in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard powder. Pour soup mixture over browned patties in skillet. Cover, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles. NOTE: • Add sliced onions or Baby Bella mushrooms when browning patties if desired. Submitted by: Carol |
