GINGER SNAPS 
3/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. molasses (Green Label Brer Rabbit)
2 tsp. baking soda (stir in molasses)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Mix as for cake. Roll dough into small balls and toss in bag of granulated sugar. Place on cookie sheet. Do not flatten out. When cracks appear on top of the cookie, they are done. Bake in oven at 350 degrees.
