DUTCH APPLE MUFFINS 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk
1 c. apples, pared and chopped
Cinnamon and sugar

Cream butter and sugar. Mix egg and milk and apples, blending well. Add dry ingredients. Drop batter into greased muffin pans. Top each with sliced apple and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
