1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
3 tsp. flavoring (vanilla, lemon, etc.)
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Mix together thoroughly the butter, sugar and egg. Stir in flavoring. Sift together and add the flour and baking powder. Chill dough. Roll very thin (1/16"). Cut in shapes desired. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. Makes 7 dozen 2" cookies.
