STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS | |
3 med. green peppers 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 c. uncooked instant rice 1 egg, slightly beaten 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 c. catsup or tomato sauce Cut green peppers in half lengthwise. Remove seeds and membranes. Set aside. Mix ground beef, tomato sauce, rice, egg, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Spoon into pepper halves. Place on roasting rack. Cover loosely with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH (100%) until green peppers are tender, about 12 to 17 minutes. If using oven without a turntable, rearrange peppers after half the cooking time. Top each green pepper with catsup during the last 2 minutes of cooking. |
