3/4 c. butter 1 1/2 c. flour 3 tbsp. brown sugar Cream together the butter, flour and brown sugar. Pat the mixture into a greased 10 x 10 inch pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. TOPPING: 2 eggs 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. dates, chopped 1 c. nuts, chopped 1 c. coconut Beat eggs slightly. Combine baking powder and flour. Add to eggs. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 275 degrees for 25 minutes. While hot frost. Chill to harden crust. Cut into 16 squares. FROSTING: 1 c. powdered sugar Juice of 1 lemon Cream or soft butter, if more liquid is needed |
