BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 3/4 c. rolled oats
1 c. mashed ripe bananas (2-3 med.)
1/2 c. chopped nuts, raisins or chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Measure all ingredients into mixing bowl. Beat until well blended. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
