CRANBERRY FRUIT NUT BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. orange juice & rind
1 egg, beaten
1 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. nuts

Combine first 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Combine orange juice and egg and orange rind, add to dry ingredients. Stir just enough to moisten. Stir in nuts and cranberries. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 5 minutes or until bread tests done. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
