FRUIT NUT BREAD (APRICOT ORANGE) 
1/2 c. dried apricots
1 lg. orange
Boiling water
1/2 c. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 beaten egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder. Soak apricots for 1/2 hour. Squeeze juice from orange into a cup. Fill cup with boiling water. Put orange rind, apricots and raisins through food chopper. Add orange juice and water. Stir in soda, sugar, melted butter and vanilla. Add beaten egg and remaining sifted together, dry ingredients. Add nuts.

Bake in a small greased loaf pan for 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Turn upside down on rack to cool.
