HAMBURGER RICE HOT DISH (MICROWAVE) | |
5 slices bacon 1 lb. hamburger 1 med. onion, chopped 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes 1 c. uncooked long grain rice 2 c. water 1 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. chili powder 1/8 tsp. pepper Layer bacon between paper towels in 2 quart casserole. Microwave until crisp, 4 to 6 minutes. Remove bacon and paper towels. Crumble hamburger into casserole, add onion and green pepper. Microwave uncovered until meat is firm, 5 to 6 minutes. Stir to break up meat; drain. Crumble bacon; add to meat long with remaining ingredients. Cover and microwave to boiling 8 to 10 minutes. Stir and let stand covered, 10 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. Serves 6. |
