HEARTY PAZOLE | |
1 lb. lean ground pork or 1 lb. chopped smoked sausages 2 tbsp. oil 1 large onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 to 1 tbsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. cumin salt and pepper, to taste 1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth 1 (14 oz.) can of stewed tomatoes 4 (15 oz. ea.) cans hominy, drained 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies Brown meat in oil, add onions and garlic, then spices. Move to crock-pot or soup pan, then add broth, tomatoes, hominy, and green chilies. Simmer on stove about and hour, or put in crock pot on low all day. NOTE: You can substitute some of the hominy for canned beans, or a can of corn. Good with cornmeal muffins on the side! Submitted by: Bonnie Jarvis |
