BUTTERED FRENCH BREAD | |
Cut 1 loaf French bread on the diagonal into 3/4 inch slices almost through to the bottom. Place in center of a piece of aluminum foil large enough to cover loaf. Generously spread desired Seasoned Butter onto cut surfaces and over top of loaf. If desired, sprinkle with paprika. Twist ends of foil securely, leaving top partially open so steam can escape. Set at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. SEASONED BUTTERS: 1/2 c. softened butter 1/3 c. finely chopped pimento-stuffed olives and 1/4 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. lemon or lime juice and 1 tbsp. minced chives 2 tbsp. finely chopped parsley, 1 minced clove garlic, 1/4 tsp. ground coriander, 1/8 tsp. ground ginger, 1/2 tsp. celery seed Blend one of the above into the butter. |
