MRS. LINVILLE'S CARAMELS 
2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
3/4 c. butter or half of each
2 c. half & half
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 tsp. vanilla

Cook sugar, Karo, butter and/or butter and 1 cup half & half, well mixed, until it boils. Slowly add second cup of half & half so that boiling does not stop. Cook to 238 degrees, stirring often, but gently. Add nuts and vanilla; pour into buttered pan. Cut into squares when cool.
