FILBERT MERINGUE BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 egg yolks
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. softened currant jelly

Mix thoroughly butter, sugar and egg yolks. Blend in flour. Press in bottom of 2 ungreased 8 x 8 x 2 inch square pans.

Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Spread with jelly, then with topping (below). Bake 20 minutes longer or until topping is golden brown. Cool slightly. Cut into bars, about 2 x 1 inches.

MERINGUE - FILBERT TOPPING:

2 egg whites
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. finely chopped filberts

Beat egg whites until foamy. Add cinnamon. Beat in sugar one tablespoon at a time. Continue beating until stiff and glossy. Fold in filberts.
