FRESH APPLE CAKE | |
4 c. diced apples 1 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. nuts, chopped 2 c. flour (add 1/4 to 1/2 c. more for juicy apples) 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. cloves Powdered sugar Cream oil and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients; add to sugar mixture and stir until well blended. Fold in apples and nuts. Bake in 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (Grease and flour pan if you wish to remove cake from pan.) Sprinkle cooled cake with powdered sugar. |
