HOMEMADE SUMMER SAUSAGE | |
2 lb. ground beef 1/2 tsp. mustard seed 1 c. water 2 tsp. liquid smoke 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 3 tbsp. Morton Tender Quick salt 1 tsp. onion powder Combine all ingredients and mix well. Shape into roll about 2 inches round. Wrap in foil (dull side out). Refrigerate (not freeze) for 24 hours. Poke holes in bottom of the foil with toothpick when ready to bake. Put 1/2 inch of water in boiler pan. Place wrapped meat on broiler rack over water. Bake about 90 minutes at 325 degrees. I have substituted deer (and pork) meat for the beef. |
