1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, well beaten
3 1/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. raisins (soaked in hot water 5 min.)

Cream together sugars and shortening until smooth. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar. Soak raisins in hottest tap water for 5 minutes. Shape dough into small balls. Place on a greased cookie sheet and press gently with a floured fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
