2 lbs. ground beef 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 can (1 lb. 12 oz.) tomatoes 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce 1/2 sm. can kidney beans, drained 4 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 c. water 1 tsp. sugar 1 beef bouillon cube 1 tsp. crushed red pepper 2 bay leaves 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. each ground cumin, thyme, oregano Salt & garlic powder to taste Brown beef, onion and drain. Stir in tomatoes (with liquid), tomato sauce, beans, Worcestershire, water, sugar, bouillon cube, red pepper, bay leaves, chili powder, cumin, and oregano. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until flavors are well blended (about 2 hours). Pour into bowls and pass shredded cheese, sour cream, onions to spoon over individual servings. |
