BLACKBERRY COBBLER 
2/3 to 1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk

Mix together in saucepan 2/3 to 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Gradually stir in 1 cup boiling water, bring to boil. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add 3 cups fruit with any juice on them.

SMALL SHORTCAKE: Combine 2 cups sifted flour, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons shortening, 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk - drop on top of berries and bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
