MEXICAN CORN BREAD 
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. onions, finely chopped
1 c. cream style corn
1 c. milk
2 eggs
2 or 3 jalapeno peppers
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 lb. mild Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 or 2 links hot sausage

Heat 1/2 cup cooking oil in oven in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl except the cheese and sausage. Add hot oil and a handful of cheese into mixture and mix well.

Pour mixture into pan and sprinkle the remainder of the cheese on top. Slice hot sausage and place over cheese. Push down into mixture with finger. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes.
