This was my first maple syrup recipe I tried. It was ok, quick and easy, but just know if you want the thicker syrup consistency, this is not it!

Try using 1/2 brown & 1/2 white sugars maple flavor - it's great. Cook down for thick syrup.

If you want thicker syrup, use a recipe that calls for corn syrup. I personally do not like thick syrup. I like syrup that will absorb into my whole wheat/oatmeal pancakes and waffles. This is a good, basic, simple syrup recipe.

Another way is to just boil water and brown sugar. The brown sugar already has the flavor in it.
