SQUASH AND APPLE BAKE 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 tsp. mace
2 lbs. butternut or buttercup squash
3 to 4 baking apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch slices

Pare and cut squash in half to remove seeds. Cut into 1/2 inch slices. Stir remaining ingredients together, except apples. Arrange squash in ungreased baking dish (11 x 7 or 13 x 9 inch) and top with apple slices. Put sugar mixture on top. Cover with foil and bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees or until squash is tender. Makes 6 servings.
