CHOCOLATE FROSTING 
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped into coarse pieces
3 tbsp. butter, unsalted
3 c. confectioners sugar, sifted
1/8 tsp. salt
7 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Melt chocolate with butter over very low heat, stirring as chocolate begins to melt, or microwave, watching closely. Set aside to cool. Combine the sugar, salt, milk and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Add the melted chocolate mixture and continue beating until thick enough to spread. Use immediately.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
