FIVE IN ONE 
10 carrots
8 lg. potatoes
4 med. sized onions
5 or 6 slices bacon
1 lb. hamburger

Using one good sized stock pot, place 5 or 6 pieces of uncooked bacon on bottom, cook until lightly browned. Then pat out 3 or 4 hamburger patties, medium sized. Place them on top of bacon and cook on one side then turn over so cooked side is up. Then place in layers sliced carrots, sliced onions then sliced potatoes. Add 2 cups water and salt and pepper to taste. Place lid to fit on pot for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Cook on low heat. When done the vegetables should be very soft. Serve with buttered bread. It's very filling for the meat and potatoes person.
