FETTUCCINE ALLA CARBONARA 
1/2 lb. sliced bacon
8 oz. fettuccine or linguine
1 tbsp. olive oil
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 c. sliced green onion
2 tbsp. snipped fresh basil or 1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/4 tsp. finely shredded lemon peel
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. pepper

Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Meanwhile, fry bacon; cool on paper toweling. When cool, crumble. When fettuccine is done; drain. Immediately return to pan. Add olive oil; toss to coat. Add the milk, the cheese, onion, basil, lemon peel, garlic powder, pepper and bacon. Cook over medium high heat until bubbly, stirring constantly. Serve immediately. Serves 6.
