HOT DOG SAUCE
1/8 lb. (1/4 c.) lard
1/4 lg. onion
3/4 lb. ground beef
3 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. red pepper
3/4 tsp. allspice
3/4 tsp. oregano
2 oz. (4 tbsp.) tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. crushed peppers

Saute 1/4 large onion and 3 tablespoons of the lard. Fry 3/4 pound ground beef with remainder of onion in the sauteed onion. (DO NOT DRAIN OFF THE FAT.) Add chili powder, salt, red pepper, allspice, oregano, tomato sauce. Add remaining lard. Add water and boil for one minute. Simmer for 4 hours. Add crushed peppers.

Put 2-3 teaspoons on each hot dog, along with mustard and onion. Leftover sauce can be frozen and warmed over with a small amount of water, or heated in microwave.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
