EASY RAISIN BREAD | |
5 tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 2 pkgs. yeast 1 tbsp. salt 3/4 and 2 2/3 c. lukewarm water 9-10 c. plain flour 1 lb. box raisins Mix all ingredients except raisins and 5 cups flour with mixer. Add raisins. Add flour to get consistency needed. Knead for 2-3 minutes. Place in well greased bowl. Cover with cloth and let rise overnight. Press down and roll out to 3/4 inch, after dividing into 3 parts. Roll up and place in loaf pans. Let rise 2 1/2-3 hours. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and brush with butter. |
