MOM'S CABBAGE ROLLS 
2 lb. ground round or sirloin
2 lb. ground pork
1 lb. rice, cooked 3/4 of the way
8 onions, chopped and sauteed in little butter
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
2 eggs
1/4 lb. butter
Black pepper
4 (ea. 3 lb.) heads cabbage, no less

Pre-fry meats. Drain rice but do NOT rinse. Melt 1/4 pound butter with onion after sauteed. Put in large bowl and add dry onion soup mix and pepper, mix and when cooled, add eggs and mix well.

Wilt cabbage leaves:

3 qt. kraut, rinsed a little and drained
3 cans stewed tomatoes, not NOT drain
2 tbsp. cider vinegar
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar, or to taste

In large bowl break up tomatoes and add kraut, vinegar and sugar; mix well. Butter roaster, bottom and sides. Put wilted outer leaves of cabbage on sides and bottom. Layer stuffed. 48 rolls
