1/2 stick butter 2 c. flour 2 to 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda Pinch of salt 1 c. raisins, or more 1 1/2 c. buttermilk Caraway seed (optional) Put flour in bowl, a long with baking powder, soda, salt and raisins. Stir in butter. Gradually work in buttermilk. Put flour on wax paper. Pat mixture into a 2 inch mound. Form scones with pastry form or glass top. Place scones in a cake pan or cookie sheet (must be lightly floured, not oiled). Bake at 375 degrees approximately 30 to 45 minutes. |
