1/2 c. flour Dash of salt 2 tbsp. cold butter, cut into sm. pieces 1 tbsp. shortening 1 egg yolk, beaten with 1 tbsp. cold water Mix together flour and salt in bowl. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Pour in egg mixture and stir with fork until mixture holds together. Dough should be very soft but not sticky. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes. Roll out on floured board to 10 inch circle, using floured rolling pin. Ease into 8 inch tart pan as directed above. |
