CHRISTMAS NORWEGIAN BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. warm milk
1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. white raisins
1/2 c. candied fruit
1/2 c. almonds
1 beaten egg
3 or 4 c. flour

Heat butter in warm milk. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar, salt and white raisins. Add flour to candied fruit and egg; will be a stiff dough. Beat after each addition of flour. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours in a greased bowl, then knead and shape into loaf tin or 3 or 4 small tins. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees oven 30-35 minutes. Drop a confectioners glaze over and add almonds on top.
