APPLE PECAN CRUMB-TOP PIE 
1/4 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
6 c. thinly sliced tart apples
2 tbsp. butter
few pats of butter
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

In a bowl, mix all ingredients and pour into pie shell.

Crumb Topping:

1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. pecans

Blend sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon with a fork until the mixture forms balls the size of peas. Stir in pecans. Sprinkle on top of pie. Place foil on the rim of pie plate to keep crust edge from burning.

Bake at 425°F for 15 minutes. Turn down heat to 350°F and continue baking for 45 to 50 minutes.
