BRATWURST OR RIBS AND KRAUT 
2 qts. sauerkraut, washed & drained
2 c. tomato juice
2 med. carrots, shredded
1 lg. apple, chopped
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 or 4 lbs. bratwurst or ribs

Mix together 2 quarts of washed and drained sauerkraut, tomato juice, shredded carrots and chopped apple. Put half in large pan, then meat and rest of sauerkraut. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours.

This is similar to a recipe I use except instead of the tomato juice I use German white wine 1-1/2 cups, (I use Liebfraumilch), and a shredded potato, and an onion as well. I also use the Bavarian style kraut, which is sweeter and has caraway already in it. Makes for a delightful dish!!! Yum, yum.
