CHOCOLATE PIE 
1 c. sugar
3 egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
1 1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 stick butter

Beat egg yolks. Gradually add sugar, milk, flour and cocoa. Cook in a double boiler until it thickens. Add flavoring and butter. Put in a baked pie shell and add meringue.

Meringue:

3 egg whites
3 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
vanilla

Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar and cream of tartar and continue to beat until mixture forms a peak. Add vanilla. Put on pie and bake in the oven until light brown.
