MCWORTER'S CAMP STYLE BAKED
BEANS

This can be prepared in an oven-proof dish or pan you will cook it in. It can be done in a Crock-Pot but takes longer and never tastes quite the same. Even picky eaters love em - I serve them to girls at camp who HATE beans and there are never any leftovers!

2 (28 oz. ea.) cans pork & beans
1-2 cups brown sugar
French's prepared mustard (a squirt or two)
1 small onion, diced
3-4 bacon slices, cut into quarters but not cooked

Combine the first 4 ingredients thoroughly. Taste to see if they are sweet with a little tang to them. Adjust mustard for a more tangy taste or add brown sugar to sweeten. I have even added ketchup when I thought it need more tomato.

Place bacon slices on top an cook in a 350°F oven for 45 to 90 minutes depending on the size and type of dish you use. Beans are done when they are thickened with no "juice" running in pan. The smell will have you salivating!

Note: Adjust the quantities up or down to suit your numbers.

Serves 12-20 people (3 to 4 oz. ea.) as a side dish for a barbecue.
