CARROT BAKE | |
9-10 lg. carrots 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1/4 c. chopped onion 4 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs Peel and steam carrots until tender. Microwave if you like. Mash the steamed carrots. Saute green pepper and onion in the 4 tablespoons butter. Stir in the flour, milk, salt and sugar. Cook until thickened. Add the mashed carrots and put in a greased casserole. Melt the butter and toss the bread crumbs until golden. Spread over the carrots. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. |
