FIVE HOUR BEEF STEW | |
2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut in 1 1/2" pieces 5 ribs celery, cut in 1" pieces 1 onion, diced 2 1/2 c. (19 oz. can) stewed tomatoes 1/4 c. minute tapioca 6 carrots, cut in 2" pieces 4 med. potatoes, peeled & halved 1 green pepper, cut in 8 pieces 2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar Place beef with carrots, potatoes, celery, green pepper and onion in Dutch oven. Sprinkle with tapioca, salt and sugar. Add tomatoes and stir together. Cover and bake in preheated slow oven, 250 degrees, for 5 hours. Don't take cover off during baking. Serves 6. |
