MOM'S BREAD & BUTTER PICKLES 
16 c. sliced pickles
10 sliced onions
1/2 c. pickling salt

Layer salt, cukes and onions with 3 to 4 trays of ice cubes. Keep them weighed down, chill 3 hours. Drain and rinse. 5 c. 5% cider vinegar 2 tsp. mustard seed 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1/2 tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. celery seed

Boil 5 minutes. Add onions and cucumbers until starting to simmer. Seal in hot, sterile jars. If no seal in 5 to 6 hours, process 20 minutes, seal.
