BASIC MUFFINS 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
Egg
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. melted butter

Stir together dry ingredients. Add melted butter and beaten egg to milk. Add liquid ingredients to dry, stirring only to moisten. (To this batter, you can add anything you want -- chocolate chips, raisins, fruit, nuts, etc.). Put into muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 8 to 10 medium muffins.
