CONEY ISLANDS 
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
6 frankfurters
6 warm frankfurter buns

In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is browned. Drain. Add tomato sauce, water, chili powder, paprika, salt, and ground red pepper. Simmer 15 minutes. In a saucepan, cover frankfurters with cold water; bring to boiling. Simmer 5 minutes. To serve, place franks in buns and top each with meat mixture. Makes 6 servings.
