BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
12 cucumbers sliced real thin
4 to 6 onions, sliced
Handful of salt
1 qt. vinegar
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed

Cover cucumbers and onions with salt water and let stand all night. next morning drain. Mix vinegar, sugar, pepper, celery seed, mustard seed. Bring this to a boil and put pickles in this mixture, then boil nicely. Can while hot.
