SCHNITSLY (A UKRAINIAN DISH) 
1 lb. hamburger
1 lb. sausage
1 lg. egg
1 1/2 to 2 c. french bread crumbs
1 lg. onion (grated)
2 to 3 cloves garlic minced
1/2 loaf french bread
Salt and pepper to taste

Slice the bread in thick slices. Cover with cold water and let soak 2 to 3 minutes, then squeeze out excess water. Mix all other ingredients together, except the bread crumbs. Make large balls of meat mixture, flatten to 1/2 inch thick. Roll in bread crumbs. Heat 2 tbsp. oil in heavy skillet, place patties into skillet, fry 10 to 15 minutes over medium heat.
