VENEZUELAN NATIONAL DISH CORNE
MICHADA
 
2 lb. beef (round steak chuck or almost any kind)
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 garlic cloves
Salt & pepper
2 tbsp. cumin
2 tbsp. paprika

Season the meat and cook in water with all the vegetables for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until you can separate the meat with a fork. Place meat in a platter and using 2 forks shred meat. Put shredded meat into skillet with a little oil and 1 cup water with vegetables. Fry the meat until all water is absorbed. Serve with caraotas negras and white rice. (Black beans and white rice.)
