CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 sm. head cabbage
4 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
2 c. milk (fresh or evaporated)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
butter

Chop cabbage into small pieces. Cover with water, cook 10 minutes. Drain well. Make white sauce of butter, flour, salt, pepper and milk. Stir constantly until thickened. Layer cabbage, sauce and cheese into casserole repeating twice. Dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
